Item Description
Kimberlite might be one of the most well-known rock types in the world. This material is famous for hosting Diamond crystals, and wherever you find Kimberlite around the world, you're almost certain to find Diamonds. This is a chunk of Kimberlite from the Monastery Mine in South Africa which according to the listing on mindat.org dates back to 1876, but only worked sporadically after 1899. We don't typically offer pieces of rock types in the auctions, but you have to admit this is pretty cool to have a piece of Kimberlite from an actual Diamond mine. From the collection of James M. Howard of Mabelvale, Arkansas.
