Item Description

Kidwellite is a fairly "new" phosphate species (named in 1974), and is well known from the Coon Creek Mine in Arkansas. This specimen is a good representative piece of Kidwellite hosts several greenish-yellow spherical aggregates which are associated with minor reddish brown Beraunite on black Goethite matrix. I have photographed the Kidwellite under the microscope to better illustrate its quality. A worthwhile specimen of this classic material from the collection of the noted and now deceased Colorado geologist, Allen Heyl (from whom the mineral Aheylite was named).
