Item Description

An outstanding specimen of rare to uncommon iron phosphates from Arkansas. Kidwellite is a rare hydrated phosphate, not named until 1974. Bubbly, botryoidal forest-green kidwellite richly covers the sculptural vug in bedded goethite matrix on this showy specimen from near the type locality in Arkansas. Beraunite is an uncommon iron phosphate and fibrous brown radial clusters underline the sides of the vug. Purple stengite is noted as small masses scattered about the specimen. OUTSTANDING for the rare species and locality. Ex A.L. Kidwell Collection and a note on his label has a 1976 date.
