A great German classic from the 1800s. Beautiful, radiating sprays of flat-lying, highly lustrous, acicular, deep wine-red kermesite crystals to about 1.2 cm line are aesthetically set on the quartz matrix from the historic, old German Type Locality - the Neue Hoffnung Gottes Mine of Saxony. These are very large crystals for the locale. Exceptional material for the species and famed locale. Ex Marty Lewadny Collection.
