Item Description

Kegelite is another of the famous Tsumeb rarities and is the Type Locality. Named after Friedrich Wilhelm Kegel, Director of mining operations (1922-1938) and and was discoveed in 1975. It is a complex sheet silicate with Pb, Al, sulphate and carbonate. This a very rich and excellent thumbnail covered with mounds and crusts of pearlescent lathes. Seldom on the market in any form. This is an exceptionally rich specimen for the micro or species collector, valued at $750-1000. Ex Art Soregaroli Collection.
