Item Description
A classic and old-time pseudomorph from the St. Austell District of Cornwall. A sharp, doubly terminated, wafer-thin, floater Carlsbad-twinned orthoclase crystal has been pseudomorphed by a super-soft mineral, kaolinite. This is a famous replacement from the locale, though rare in this size! I have seen specimens of this size priced with the largest British dealer, at Munich, for 1200 to 1500 pounds sterling, time to time. A few scattered small cassiterite crystals are a super and rare accent - I have not seen the species on the same piece together, in the past, from here! Complete all-around and pristine. Showy, excellent and uncommon material from this famed locale. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. Valued $750-1000
