Item Description
Two striking central cores on this dramatic large 3-dimensional old agate pseudomorph from Brazil. Kaolinite has replaced nearly all of the stunning, dense variably etched banding on this surreal piece. The variable elevations of the dense banding really add character to the piece. The Salto do Jacui area is well-known as a major source of agate in the form of geodes from Brazil (MINDAT). 2044 grams or 4.5 pounds. Ex Bill and Anne Cook Collection. Unique large old-time material from a limited mid-1960s find.
