Kanonaite is a rare silicate, a polymorph of kyanite and sillimanite. MINDAT does not list Serra das Bicas or Carrancas, Minas Gerais in their locality database. The species usually occurs as black to green grains, so this piece may be extremely rich. This is perhaps RARE and UNIQUE material from this locale. Ex Matioli Collection.
