Scintillating gemmy kammererite crystals cover the sculptural hefty chrome-rich small cabinet ore matrix on this rich and excellent specimen from the top locality for the species, the Kop Krom Mine in Turkey. Kammererite is the rare, chrome-rich variety of clinochlore. There is nothing that quite matches the vivid purple-red hue of kammererite as found in a series of remarkable pockets over 20 years ago. Smaller first generation crystals, to 4 mm, carpet the piece with two larger second generation well-placed crystals, to 8 mm, being a fine complement. The glassy, gemmy, crystals have textbook, tapering, pseudohexagonal form and GLOW when backlit.
