Item Description

Kammererite is the rare, chrome-rich variety of clinochlore. There is nothing that quite matches the vivid purple-red hue of kammererite as found in a series of remarkable pockets over 20 years ago at this top locality for the species, the Kop Krom Mine in Turkey. This showy and excellent miniature is highlighted by the striking, solitary, 6 mm crystal artistically centered in a bowl lined with sparkly kammererite microcrystals! The lustrous, translucent, well-striated crystal has textbook, tapering, pseudohexagonal form and GLOWS when backlit. Ex Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection and purchased in Munich in 1979 for 50 marks.
