Kammererite is the rare, chrome-rich variety of clinochlore. There is nothing that quite matches the vivid purple-red hue of kammererite as found in a series of remarkable pockets over 20 years ago at this top locality for the species, the Kop Krom Mine in Turkey. This showy and excellent miniature plate is highlighted by well-placed crystals to 7 mm on a bed of sparkly kammererite microcrystals! The lustrous, translucent, crystals have textbook, tapering, pseudohexagonal form and GLOW when backlit. Valued at $600-800. Seldom on the market today and this piece has two fine display views.
