Item Description
Kammererite is the rare, chrome-rich variety of clinochlore. There is nothing that quite matches the vivid purple-red hue of kammererite as found in a series of remarkable pockets over 20 years ago at this top locality for the species, the Kop Krom Mine in Turkey. This large and excellent specimen features a 2.0 cm cluster and gorgeous, discrete, beautifully gem crystals to 1.0 cm aesthetically scattered on a hefty matrix covered with kammererite microcrystals! The two generations contrast and complement for display. A bit of contacting and bruising is noted, but certainly nothing to any detraction. Specimens of this size and richness are very uncommon. Valued at $1250-1500.
