Item Description
We have only seen a small number of these rare and quite dramatic epimorphs from Malawi. This single crystal is 3.4 cm across, with one small interpenetrating sidecar on the back. These are rather striking, but the question is: which mineral comes after which? Traditionally, this is thought of as Kainosite, Feldspar, and Quartz on aegirine, but there are many examples of Kainosite blades with exactly the same morphology as the underlying crystals here. So, take your pick, but either way, these are remarkable and aesthetic specimens. This 'single' is exceptionally sharp.
