Item Description

I have to say I was a bit fooled when I saw this piece, as I automatically assumed it was from the Swiss Alps, where some of the most classic and iconic examples of Adularia have been found. There are several "Alpine-type" cleft deposits in Pakistan which produce specimens that are notably similar to their classic European cousins, and this piece is certainly a great example of said material. This piece features many sharp, well-formed, tapered blocky crystals of this variety of K-Feldspar, which have a soft mossy green hue due to inclusions of Actinolite, but the original white color of the Adularia crystals can be seen in many of the crystals. No major damage that I can see, but a nicks and rubs can be seen here and there. The largest crystal measures 3.7 cm. If you're a fan of Feldspars, Alpine / "Alpine-type" minerals, or specimens from Pakistan, do not miss out on this attractive specimen from this well-known locality.
From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#143 AP), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel. We at The Arkenstone have the privilege of offering the remainder of this great worldwide collection through our various platforms.
