Mineral specimens are RARE from this obscure locale in the well-known Shigar Valley but Churka has produced excellent adularia specimens and this is an exceptional, aesthetic and sculptural large combination piece from the Ed David Collection. The sharp glassy translucent crystals are dramatically partially included with starkly contrasting green Clinochlore, a Chlorite Group species. The striking large 4.8 cm crystal artistically crowns the impressive mounded piece. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and assembled several world-class collections before passing away in 2017. A superb large adularia from the locale valued at $1375 many years ago when we bought his collection in the mid-2000s.
