Item Description

A classic example of the famous Adularia twins from the European Alps. These classic and highly desirable specimens are the best examples of twinned Adularia extant. Good Adularia twins are typically seen from the Swiss Alps, and are certainly less common from Italy in my experience. This piece is a very good sized, sharp, very well-formed, twinned group which has a gentle mossy green hue in certain areas due to a light coating of Clinochlore ("Chlorite"), but the original light golden color of the Adularia crystals can be seen on the base of the piece. No major damage on the front of the piece, but one side/corner is contacted, and the back is not complete, where it was removed from the pocket wall. If you're a fan of Feldspars, Alpine minerals, twinned minerals or just interesting mineral morphology, do not miss out on this attractive specimen from this lesser-seen locality. From the collection of Luca Bertelli with an inventory label from Brian Kosnar - Mineral Classics.
