Item Description
Juangodoyite is an ultra-rare Na-Ca carbonate, UNIQUE to the Santa Rosa mine, which is an adit within the old Santa Rosa silver mining district, already defunct since end of the 19th century (MINDAT). It is named after Juan Godoy, discoverer of the famed Chanarcillo silver deposit. Crusts of vivid ultramarine blue richly cover both sides of the matrix wedge. It was only approved as a species in 2004. Specimens of this richness and quality are RARE and are seldom on the market. Ex Eugene Carmichael Collection.
