The best rare species are also, when found in off-the-books quality, beautiful. We say that often, but really we just compare them to more common species and often take the best nature gives us without it really being comparable in beauty. Here is a species that changes that balance: Individual, vibrant yellow Jouravskite crystals are transparent to translucent and range in size from about 2 mm to 5 mm forming dazzling, yellow clusters. The Jouravskites are set on a contrasting, bubbly surface of white Oyelite for great composition and contrast. Jouravskite is a rare, hydrated calcium-manganese sulfate-carbonate of the Ettringite Group and Oyelite is a rare, hydrated calcium borosilicate. For even more defined contrast, these two rare and colorful minerals are set on a dark, charcoal gray matrix of Manganite ore. This is a beautiful and unusual combination piece from the Kalahari Manganese Field. This is from one small pocket a few years ago in 2017, that is by FAR the best of species known (and which we acquired nearly the full contents of). It remains unequaled to this day.
