Item Description

Jouravskite is a RARE complex hydrated Ca-Mn-sulfate-carbonate, isostructural with Thaumasite and a member of the Ettringite Group. Vivid lemon-yellow, sparkly, translucent microcrystals carpet the sculptural mounded small cabinet matrix plate. The finest examples of the species come from the famous N'Chwaning mine and this most excellent piece is from important 1980s or 1990s finds at the N'Chwaning II Mine. The specimen has several possible display views. Formerly in the Phil Scalisi Collection, a well-known East coast dealer and collector. Ex Dr. Vasco Trancoso Collection.
