Item Description

Joseite-B is a rare questionable/doubtful species, according to the IMA. The bismuth, tellurium sulfide is named for its relationship to joseite (same elements with different amounts) and is possibly just sulphur-rich pilsenite (bismuth tellurium). In any case, whichever it is, it is hard to obtain. Metallic silver-white masses and flakes are noted on two place on the sculptural milky quartz matrix. The fin-like mass on the crest of the quartz is 7 mm long. This very rare species and specimen is from an uncommon gold mine in British Columbia. Ex Josef Vajdak Collection.
