Item Description

Johannsenite is a RARE pyroxene group silicate and this EXCELLENT, very rich specimen features HUGE, blocky, highly lustrous, olive-green crystals to 1.2 cm on matrix. This is also a RARE and EXCEPTIONAL locality piece from the famous North Mine at Broken Hill, Australia. Ex T.M. Phetteplace and Jaime Bird Collections. I have seen only a few Broken Hill johannsenites and usually reference level material is valued at several hundred $$$. THis should be, as it is quite display-worthy and has large crystals, $500-750 range
