Item Description

Jeremejevite is a rare gem Borate mineral that is typically yellow, but the famous Erongo Region in Namibia has produced the finest blue crystals of the species extant. The locality is a pegmatite directly on the beach in Namibia, (see this link for a photo: http://www.mindat.org/photo-129179.html), and has produced very little in the way of Jeremejevite in recent years. This specimen is a very attractive, very gemmy, sharp, lustrous crystal with a rich blue color. For the size and the gemminess, this is certainly a worthwhile specimen for a gem crystal collector, but please note that neither end is terminated.
