Item Description
The gem quality Opals from various localities in Queretaro, Mexico are among some of the finest examples of transparent Opal from any world locality. They are often found in larger sized stones with vivid colors. This "Oval Cabochon" cut gem is a beautiful Precious / Jelly Opal with a light yellow hue in reflected light, and it shows the highly desirable and seldom seen COLOR FLASH effect with glowing green and blue flashes floating over the top of the stone when it's rotated in the light. Now the color flash is best seen in sunlight or with a strong flashlight against a black background, and we've done our best to show the color flash. It's a very attractive stone, and would make a great piece of jewelry, or would stand on its own as a beautiful gem. How often does one have a chance to purchase a completely natural multi-color Opal gem for such a reasonable starting bid ?
