This impressive and artistic large specimen of carved and polished jasper picture stone is from a recent find at a less well-known Chinese locale. This striking, two-sided, large piece has two outdoor country scenes, both with rolling brown meadows with scattered shrubs and bizarre looking trees below a large ominous scudding gray cloud or gray lake. The top of the piece has additional strange-looking landscape. It reminds me of Middle Earth or paintings from Chinese murals or room dividers or like paintings by the famed Impressionist artists of the 19th century. Art in stone. The measurements include the custom-made wooden base. One of the few polished pieces we sell, because they are just so beautiful at a nice pricepoint. 6.4 pounds or 2.9 kilos.
