An extremely rare and desirable MATRIX Japan-law twin Herkimer quartz crystal! Matrix Herkimer quartz "diamond" specimens are rare because the crystals commonly break off matrix during collecting, as the matrix is usually very hard. The glorious, glassy, 2. 0 cm, twin is elegantly set atop the matrix column coated with tiny, scintillating quartz crytals. The twin is included with both yellow petroleum and black pyrobitumen. The tiny crystals have included pyrobitumen. Comes with a custom-made, baked clay base. Ex Dr. Ed David Collection (Ed was President Nixon"s White House Science Chief, and remains a longtime mineral collector). valued $750-1000 for extreme rarity of this habit for the locality.
