Item Description

A VERY RARELY seen specimen of the barium aluminum phosphate, Jagowerite from the type and ONLY locality that it has ever been found. This material was discovered in 1973 and named for John Arthur Gower (1921-1972), Professor of Mineralogy, University of British Columbia, Vancouver. After the intial discovery, I don't know if it has ever been seen again. This piece features spots of medium emerald green color Jagowerite with minor Barite in Quartz matrix from what according to one of the labels says was 16 miles north of the Hess River way up in the Yukon Territory in north Canada. We've never had one of these to offer in the auctions, and if you collect rarities or phosphates, and you want one of these, get this one now.
