Item Description

Jade is a beloved stone, cherished in Eastern Asian cultures (particularly China) for centuries. Archeological finds have show that Jade has been carved by humans for thousands of years, dating back to the Neolithic period (ca. 7000–1700 BCE). The material is prized for both its beauty and durability. Although Jade is a semi-precious gem, it is certainly one of the most popular, and sometimes most expensive gems in the world. Most of the Jade you'll see is "non gem quality", and typically opaque, though transparent material does exist and commands the highest price on the market. The beautiful traditional green color is what attracts collectors. Here we have a carved Jade ring from Myanmar (Burma) with a very light white hue and a tiny bit of greenish spots mixed in. The ring is translucent for all intents and purposes. Now I don't know for certain if it has been treated, but based upon the color and the translucency, my guess is that it's more than likely UN-treated. It is an attractive piece and a unique gift idea for someone who likes jade. The size on the ring is 6 ¾.
