Jade (Nephrite) Ring

Jade is a ubiquitous stone, known to people all over the world, not just those interested in gems. Of the semi-precious gems, Jade is clearly one of the most popular, and top grade material can be among the most expensive gems in the world. Most of the Jade you'll see is "non gem quality", and typically opaque, though transparent material does exist and commands the highest price on the market. The beautiful traditional green color is what attracts collectors. Here we have a carved Jade ring from British Columbia with a mossy green color with a few darker spots mixed in. The ring is translucent for all intents and purposes. Now I don't know for certain if it has been treated, but based upon the color and the translucency, my guess is that it's more than likely UN-treated. It is a very attractive piece and a unique gift idea for someone who likes jade.
