Jade (Nephrite) Ring

Of the various semi-precious gems, Jade is certainly one of the most popular, and people don't realize that the best stones are some of the most expensive in the world. The majority of the Jade you'll see on the market is "non gem quality", and typically opaque/translucent, though transparent material does exist and commands the highest price on the market. Here we have a carved Jade ring that is essentially white/colorless. The ring is translucent for all intents and purposes. Now I don't know for certain if it has been treated, but based upon the lighter color and the translucency, my guess is that it's more than likely UN-treated. It is a very attractive stone and truly glows when backlit. This piece is a pre-embargo import from many years ago, and would make a great addition to any collection as they are not as easy to purchase as they were years ago. The size on the ring is 7.
