Jade (Nephrite) (Rare Cat's Eye)

Jade (Nephrite) is one of the most popular "non gem quality" stones around. The material is often only translucent, but the beautiful traditional green color is what attracts collectors. This stone is an "Oval Cabochon" cut gem, but it features a RARELY seen "cat's eye" effect, which is only seen in stones from Russia and Washington State. This stone has a gentle olive green color, and is translucent for all intents and purposes. Now I don't know for certain if it has been treated, but based upon the lighter color and the translucency, my guess is that it's more than likely UN-treated. The "eye" shows up very well, even in low lighting, and you don't need to blast it with light to get it to show up. A very attractive and hard to find gem that would make a great addition to any collection.
