Jade (Nephrite)

Jade is one of the most popular "non gem quality" stones around. The material is often only translucent, but the beautiful traditional green color is what attracts collectors. This "Coin Bead Cabochon" cut stone has a fantastic medium mint green color, and is translucent for all intents and purposes. Now I don't know for certain if it has been treated, but based upon the lighter color and the translucency, my guess is that it's more than likely UN-treated. It is a very attractive stone and truly glows when backlit. This stone is a pre-embargo import from many years ago, and would make a great addition to any gem collection as they are not as easy to purchase as they were years ago.
