Item Description
When it comes to valuable gemstones, most people probably think of Diamonds, Rubies, Sapphires, Emeralds, etc., but the Jade industry is one of the highest grossing markets in the world. Most of the fine Jade mined every year comes from the town of Hpakant, Myanmar and is estimated to bring in over $30 billion annually! For comparison, the Emerald gem industry only brings in about $3 billion per year, and all of the Sapphires sold globally ever year are around $7.5 billion. With that said, the vast majority of the high end Jade is purchased by Chinese buyers, and very little of it is sold anywhere else. Here we have a beautiful natural bead of Jade with a soft silvery hue and a very slight greenish overtone. There is a tiny drill hole in the back where the bead could be mounted for jewelry. A very attractive piece of this valuable and seldom seen material.
