Item Description

Jacobsite is a rare Mn-Fe oxide and is a member of the Spinel Group. Specimens from the famous Langban deposit are EXTREMELY RARE. This very rich specimen hosts numerous sections of lustrous, black octahedral crystals, to 1.5 cm, embedded in the calcite matrix. Sharp faces are noted on some crystals. RARE pearlescent golden-brown phlogopite plates are clustered on the left edge and are scattered elsewhere. Bright red-orange calcite SW fluorescence. Very rare, rich and showy combination material from the Matioli Collection. Valued at $750-1000.
