Item Description

Fine calcite specimens, such as this, are very uncommon from the ancient mines at Jachymov on the Czech side of the Erzgebirge. This showy and excellent specimen is a complete all-around, parallel-growth cluster of lustrous, translucent, lightly iron oxide-tinted, sharp, "nailhead" calcite rhombs. Essentially pristine, with only the most trivial of edgewear. Classic and rare material from this historic locale. Ex Josef Vajdak Collection, a noted Czech specialist.
