Item Description

Pyrite specimens are EXTREMELY RARE from any of the many localities MINDAT lists for Mariposa County. Striking, sharp, iridescent, pyritohedrons are aesthetically clustered on the large matrix plate of laminated, very fine-grained sandstone. Rare, perhaps unique older California material from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Collected along Hwy. 140 by Charles & Elssi Dunn of Livermore in the 1956-64 period, according to Bob's label. Value to the California or species collector???
