Item Description
Scintillating, variably iridescent micro pyritohedrons are dramatically and preferentially deposited on this impressive 3-dimensional, 360-degree, large pseudomorph specimen from from Daye County, Hubei, China. Sparkly druzy quartz points totally cover the matrix and have pseudomorphed the striking and dominating large 5.8 cm calcite scalenohedron. One side of the piece hosts a few scattered, tabular, hexagonal, "pokerchip" style calcite crystals, a fine accessory to this remarkable and highly unusual pseudomorph combination. The base has been sawed to enhance the display quality of this very showy piece from one of the many mines near the town of Daye in China's old Bronze Age copper mining district.
