Item Description

A radiant specimen of intergrown Fluorite cubes completely covered with a blanket of lustrous, metallic, microcrystalline IRIDESCENT Pyrite. The Pyrites display a multitude of colors from reddish orange, gold, yellow, green and silvery gray. All with a dazzling shimmer and sparkle. The Fluorite cubes vary in size up to 2.8 cm on edge. These are then accentuated with translucent clear to white nailhead Calcites up to 1 cm. The Pyrite covered Fluorites are in near pristine condition having only trivial periphery wear with a basal trimming that shows the initial translucent sea green Fluorite. There is scuffing and wear on a few of the calcites but that doesn't detract from the main show of the iridescent Pyrites. A very uncommon and high quality iridescent specimen from this locale. The base Fluorite has a vivid purple fluorescence. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl. This is a rather large and good quality example of this classic Moroccan find (from memory, early 2000s?).
