Item Description
Strikingly iridescent, golden-metallic, peacock-blue and magenta covellite plates richly and attractively cover the top of the front and back of this impressive, scultpural and rich CABINET combination specimen from the famous mines at Butte. Most of the matrix in the front is enargite, but there are also two pods of quartz crystals. The lower, 2.4 cm, quartz vug holds a 4 mm, gem, golden barite crystal with a chisel termination! Barite from Butte is RARE! Dazzling, iridescent covellite and enargite crown the top and one edge of the quartz with pyrite and sulfides matrix on the back. Very fine covellite on this excellent old-time combo piece from Butte and the Robert Whitmore Collection # 947. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
