Item Description

Mirror-bright, psychedelic, iridescent, hematite crystals comprise this stunning old-time specimen from the famous iron mines of Elba Island. The bright rainbow of color is breathtaking. The oxide-tinted quartz points in the interstices are a very nifty accent. This locality dates back to the times of the Etruscans, and is one of the great classic European localities. The hematites from Elba are some of the most unique and distinctive hematites in the world and this is a startling example. We have not seen many Elba hematites with this amazing quality and variety of iridescent colors, recently. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. valued $250
