Item Description
A striking, scuptural, 7.5 x 7.0 cm, septarian-shaped vug is lined with three varieties of fluorite from the famous Auglaize Quarry. The vug interior is lined with classic iridescent, scintillating violet-brown and golden cubes. Scattered on the fringe of the vug are beautiful, complimentary gemmy rich violet cubes to 8 mm. The vug is lined with a first generation of small brown, translucent fluorite crystals. LW UV light reveals a STRIKING surprise! The earlier generation of fluorite lining the vugs lights up yellowish-white from hydrocarbon inclusions with only some of the cubes having light purple fluorescence! Classic, showy, rich and excellent material from the Jeff Starr Collection. MUCH BETTER in person! these usually are shown at prices ranging over an exttreme form low to high, depending on if you buy them in the midwest or in national level shows, but $750-1250 is a fair range certainly for a large display piece like this.
