Item Description

Classic Ohio and US fluorite from the famous Auglaize Quarry of Junction, Ohio. Striking, colorful cubes fill the vugs in the sculptural limestone matrix. The gemmy cubes are actually golden amber, but have a surreal iridescent magenta coating on them. LW UV light reveals a STRIKING surprise! The earlier generation of fluorite lining the vugs lights up yellowish-white from hydrocarbon inclusions. Auglaize fluorites of this iridescent quality are so showy and are always in demand. A bit of bruising and periphery wear are noted, but is a very modest detraction to the overall quality of this striking piece. Contrasting glassy white calcite sections are a nice accessory. The base has been sawed to let it sit stably
