Iridescent Fluorite (Medici and Plavac Coll.)

Item Description

Iridescent, indigo-blue, fluorite cubes with a few purple cubes richly cover the undulating wedge of limestone matrix on this showy and classic specimen from the famous Auglaize Quarry of Junction, Ohio. The gemmy, iridescent cubes are actually golden amber, but have an indigo-blue coating on them. Auglaize fluorites of this iridescent quality are so showy and are always in demand. The base has been sawed to enhance the display quality. Ex John Medici Collection, a noted Ohio field collector and dealer and Roni and Bill Plavac Collection.
