Iridescent Chalcopyrite on Calcite (Webb Coll.)

Item Description

Striking, sparkly, multi-hued, iridescent chalcopyrite coats much of the mounded CABINET calcite crystal matrix on this showy and excellent specimen from recent finds in China. A later generation of glassy, flattened, calcite disks in all orientations is a fabulous accent. The disks reach 2.6 cm and most are undamaged. One area of periphery wear is noted, but is a minimal detraction to this nifty combo piece. Ex James Webb Collection. VERY UNCOMMON combination material from the famous Yaogangxian Mine.
