Item Description
Stunningly iridescent and sparkly chalcopyrite microcrystals preferentially coat striking glassy dogtooth calcite crystals, to 2.0 cm. The calcites dramatically line all sides of a sculptural vug in calcite matrix. The striking peacock iridescence ranges from golden to magenta to green. All of the calcites in the well-protected vug are pristine. This most colorful and exotic combination is from the 2015 find in Daye County, with none since. Complete vugs of iridescent chalcopyrite on calcite crystals of this quality were rare from the find - we should know, as we handled most of it at the time! Valued at $1500-2000.
