Item Description
Beautiful areas of light multi-hued iridesecence highlight this sculptural 3-dimensional specimen of solid chalcocite from the famous Flambeau Mine. The piece has striking rolling foliated areas of flattened crystals, that look like ropy lava! Magenta, peacock-blue and some green iridescence are noted. The crystals reach about 3.0 cm on this highly representative, artistic and excellent larger example. Chalcocite specimens from the mid-1990s finds at this extinct and reclaimed copper mine are a desirable American classic. Common 20 years ago, specimens are seldom on market today. Valued at $300-400.
