Item Description
This is a showy, gemmy and lustrous topaz crystal with magnificent blue color jauntily complimented by a "cap" of pearlescent lepidolite from 2008 finds at Itinga, Brazil (reworking an old district known for a 1969 discovery with modern equipment for missed pockets). The very glassy crystal has a textbook chisel termination and is undamaged, save for the contacting at the base. Most are loose, this has some attached matrix which is nive. A classic topaz with great blue color saturation. If this were from the older finds of the late 1960s it would be $5000-6000, mark my words. as is, this REALLY is one of the more intense blues of the new finds I have seen, and is valued at $2000-2500 at least. No more like this have come out since this find, with the same color and shape. More have been found, but of etched form and different termination styles. Comes with a custom made $145 lucite engraved base, for free.
