Inesite with Hubeite (rare) (ex Chet Lemanski Collection)

A wonderful association specimen featuring Inesite along with the extremely rare calcium manganese iron silicate Hubeite from the type locality for the species. This piece features "fan"-shaped groups of pink Inesite with individual crystals measuring up to 1.7 cm associated with small crystals of rich golden-brown Hubeite plus gemmy colorless Quartz prisms on Calcite matrix. A nice example of this incredibly rare material that has not been seen on the market in any frequency for years. This piece around 20 years old (found circa 2003) and would make a great addition to any rare species suite or a fine miniature collection. Valued at $750 for size, rarity, quality and aesthetics. Chet was born 1947 in started collecting minerals circa 1957. He worked briefly as a drill runner at the famous Sterling Mine, in Ogdensburg, New Jersey and from 1987 to 1990 he helped convert the mine into a public access mining museum. He has held the role of treasurer, vice president and president of the Franklin-Ogdensburg Mineralogical Society (FOMS), and has been a board member and vice president of the Franklin Mineral Museum. The rare copper arsenate, Lemanskiite was named in his honor in 1999.
