Inesite with Calcite

This elegant miniature is from one of the more important finds of Inesite at the Wessels Mine in the 1980s. It is a truly balanced and aesthetic miniature consisting of several divergent sprays of translucent to nearly transparent red bladed crystals on finely crystalline Calcite. The vibrant reddish radial Inesite sprays are up to 1.8 cm across and have great three dimensional form. They display prominently on the tiny, contrasting, translucent white groups of Calcite crystals. It is a well-composed and balanced miniature. Finds here at the Wessels are considered by many to be the best of species! This is one of those rare examples, on matrix. This colorful specimen displays well all around and just sparkles in the lights of a display case. Valued $2000-plus.
