Distinctive pretty rich pink, sharp bladed inesite blades, to 1.1 cm, are richly and very aesthetically mounded on this outstanding sculptural small cabinet from the famous Hale Creek Mine of California. Mined for manganese during World War II (1941-44), crystallized inesite was not collected until 1971, when the enclosing calcite was dissolved away. Specimens were collected from the 1970s into the 1990s. See the 1987 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 18, No. 5.
