Item Description
First-rate combination piece of Inesite and orange Prehnite. The exceptional Inesites are in rare discrete crystals up to 1.1 cm, have excellent luster, and are an interesting and attractive Persian Red color. NOTE THIS IS NOT THE WESSELS MINE MATERIAL PEOPLE NORMALLY ASSOCIATE WITH KALAHARI! this is, instead, from a small find at NCwhaning many years later. The Prehnites are in small clusters of very gemmy crystals, orange in color. There is a whole scientific paper on them written by Bruce Cairncross as prehnite seems to be significant in its rarity in the Kalahari fields. To my eye, one of the very best of this habit of Inesite that I have ever seen from this famous mine. Extremely aesthetic. Valued $1250-1500
